I found homologation numbers difficult to track, award rules confusing, and spreadsheets were never my thing. So I built a free tracker to help riders across Ireland plan their seasons and see where every ride counts.

Hi, I'm Peter. I'm a software engineer based in Wexford, and I built this tracker.
The road to Audax
Before cycling, I was into long-distance hiking and wild camping. Then came a few bike touring trips with friends to Italy and Majorca, and I got the bug. I cycled the Wild Atlantic Way from Cork to Clare, and at the time, doing over 100 km in a day felt like a serious achievement. When a friend asked me to race the TransAtlanticWay, I said yes without really thinking about it. We finished the 2022 edition as a pair, and I went back solo in 2025.

It was during that first TransAtlanticWay that another racer mentioned Audax. I had never heard of it. Controls, brevet cards, awards, the whole structure of it really intrigued me. I had just finished a 1,700 km ultra race, so when I saw the Inverness 1200 on the calendar, I thought: sure, 1,200 km, how hard can it be? I signed up as my very first Audax. I was humbled quickly. Turns out September in the Cairngorms is absolutely freezing, and I DNF'd.
Getting hooked
My next Audax was the Birr 200 in January 2023. That one I finished, and I have been hooked ever since. Through 2025 and into 2026 I have been riding regularly, working through the distances and across the provinces. The goal now is ACP Randonneur 5000 and 10000 by the end of 2027, which means PBP '27 is very much on the plan. After that, Brevet Hibernae.

Why I built this
The tracker came out of problems I had myself. I found it difficult to keep track of homologation numbers and work out which awards I was close to. Spreadsheets have never been my thing, so I started building a clearer way to manage it, evenings and weekends. I built Audax.ie for the Audax community in Ireland. The goal is simple: log your rides, see your progress update automatically, and enjoy planning your Audax year.
The community
I have been genuinely blown away by the Audax community in Ireland. The welcome you get as a newcomer, the camaraderie on the road, the volunteers who give up their weekends to make it all happen. This tracker is my way of giving something back. It is free to use, and I love that other riders find it helpful.
