Getting Started
Audax.ie is an app for tracking your Audax rides, monitoring progress toward awards, and generating claim forms when you complete them. This guide walks you through the core workflow, explains how ride statuses work, and covers the key settings you should configure when you first sign in.
Signing In with Strava
Audax.ie uses Strava for authentication, so there is no separate account to create. Select the "Connect with Strava" button on the login page, authorise the app in Strava, and you are in. Your Strava profile provides your identity, so you can start adding rides immediately.
The Core Workflow
Using the tracker follows a simple three-step cycle: add rides, watch your award progress update, and claim awards when you complete them.
- Add your rides by logging each Audax ride with its type, distance, date, and status. You can add rides manually, import them from a CSV file, import them from Strava, or create planned rides from calendar events. See the Managing Rides guide for details on all the ways to add rides.
- Track your progress on the Progress page, which calculates your real-time progress toward all awards based on your completed rides. A single ride can count toward multiple awards simultaneously. Visit the Tracking Awards guide to learn how the Progress and Achievements pages work.
- Claim completed awards when you have completed all the qualifying rides. The tracker detects this automatically and makes a claim available. Depending on the award, you can confirm it directly, generate a claim form for the relevant organising body, or continue to an external claim form.
The Rides page brings together your planned and completed rides.
Ride Status Lifecycle
Every ride in the tracker has a status that reflects where it is in its lifecycle. The status determines whether the ride counts toward your award progress.

Planned
Awaiting Confirmation
Done: counts toward awards
Completed
Missing #
or
DNF
After confirmation, a regular permanent displays as Completed. Other completed rides display as Completed with a "Missing #" tag until their homologation number is added. DNF can be set from Awaiting Confirmation. A missing number does not change the ride's contribution to award progress.
- Planned is for rides you have not done yet. Set automatically for future dates or calendar events. Does not count toward awards, but shows in projections.
- Awaiting Confirmation means the ride is ready for you to confirm. This usually happens when its date passes or when an eligible planned ride is linked to a Strava activity. You can mark it as completed or DNF.
- Completed (Missing #) is shown for rides that require homologation, including BRM, LRM, Flèche, SR600, PBP, and BP, when the number has not yet been added. The ride is treated as completed and counts toward awards. Add the number when the organiser publishes it.
- Completed means the ride is fully confirmed with all required details in place. Regular permanents go straight here on confirmation. Completed rides count toward awards.
- DNF means you started but did not finish. Does not count toward awards. You can hide DNF rides in Settings.
Configuring Your Home Province
One of the first things to do after signing in is set your home province in Settings. This matters because the 4 Provinces award requires completing qualifying rides in each of Ireland's four provinces. One permanent may count toward the award, but not when it was ridden in your home province.
The country and county saved on each ride determine where it took place. For award calculations, your home province only applies the permanent rule above. It also sets the initial area shown on the Brevet Hiberniae map. Go to Settings and select it under Preferences. Changes are saved immediately, and the tracker recalculates your 4 Provinces progress.
Set your home province under Preferences for accurate 4 Provinces tracking.
