Managing Your Rides

Managing Rides

The tracker gives you several ways to manage your ride history, from adding individual rides manually to bulk-importing an entire season via CSV or Strava. You can also create planned rides directly from calendar events and filter your ride list to focus on what matters. This guide covers all the ways to get your rides into the system and keep them organised.

Adding a Ride Manually

To add a ride, select the "Add Ride" button on the Rides page. You will need to fill in a few key fields:

  • Ride name is the name of the ride, for example the event or permanent name.
  • Date is the date you rode (or plan to ride). The date determines which Audax season the ride falls in and affects award eligibility windows.
  • Distance is the ride distance in kilometres. For BRM rides, standard distance categories apply (200 km, 300 km, 400 km, 600 km, 1,000 km).
  • Ride type sets the kind of ride: BRM, Permanent, LRM, Flèche, PBP, or BP. The ride type determines which awards the ride can count toward.

Complete these fields to enable Next. The next step collects location and other details that apply to the ride.

Tip: You will not find SR600 as a ride type to select. The tracker derives it from distance, ride type, and elevation gain. A permanent of roughly 600 km with at least 10,000 m of climbing is classified as an SR600 Original. For the modern SR600 format, add a roughly 600 km ride as a BRM and enter at least 8,000 m of elevation.

Once saved, the ride appears in your ride list and the tracker assigns a status automatically based on the date. If you set a future date, the ride is created as a planned ride.

This is useful for events in other countries not listed in the calendar, permanents, or any ride you want to plan ahead for. See the Getting Started guide for an explanation of how ride statuses work.

Strava Import

If you record rides on Strava, you can search a year and review the results before anything is added. The tracker suggests Audax events, permanents, and rides already in your tracker. You can correct a suggestion, combine multiple recordings into one ride, edit the details, or leave an activity out. See the Strava Import guide for the full review and import process.

CSV Import & Export

The CSV import lets you bulk-add rides instead of entering them one by one, which is handy when you first set up the tracker and want to load your historical data. Open the Data section on the Settings page, find "Import rides", select "Import", and upload a file with columns for ride type, distance, date, and location. The tracker validates each row before saving. Not sure about the format? Export your rides first. The exported file doubles as a ready-made template.

You can export your ride data at any time for a personal backup, to take your data with you if you delete your account, or to analyse your history in a spreadsheet.

Important: CSV import adds new rides and skips duplicates. Re-importing an exported ride does not update the existing ride. Edit an existing ride in the tracker when you need to change its details.

Creating a Planned Ride from the Calendar

The Calendar page lists upcoming Audax Ireland events and permanent routes in separate tabs. Select the + button on an event to create a planned ride with its date, ride type, distance, and location filled from the calendar. Permanents use the same + button, but ask you to choose the date you intend to ride first.

Select the + button on an event to add it to your planned rides.

Planned rides appear in your ride list with a "Planned" status. When the ride date passes, or an eligible planned ride is linked to a Strava activity, it moves to "Awaiting Confirmation". You can then confirm whether you completed it. A confirmed non-permanent ride displays as Completed, with a small "Missing #" tag if its homologation number has not yet been added.

Permanents

The Permanents tab on the Calendar page lists permanent routes you can ride at any time. Like events, each permanent card has a + button to add it as a ride. Select a route, then choose the date you intend to ride it. Once added to your ride list, you can edit the start location if needed.

Contact the organiser to arrange your start date before heading out. Permanents count toward awards like RRTY, so they are a flexible way to fill gaps in your progress.

Filtering

Both tabs let you search by name and narrow the list by location and distance. Events can also be filtered by month and can include previous seasons. Permanents add start or pass-through location matching and a difficulty filter. On desktop the controls appear in a sidebar. On mobile, select "Filters" to reveal them.

Award Contributions

Expand a calendar event to see the awards it could help with. These appear as Potential awards before you add the event and Projected awards after you add it as a planned ride. The ride list also shows award impact on completed and planned rides.

Filtering Your Rides

As your ride list grows, the status summary at the top of the Rides page helps you focus on what matters. Select a status to show only Planned, Awaiting Confirmation, Completed, Missing #, or DNF rides. Completed includes rides that still need a homologation number, while Missing # narrows the list to only those rides.

On desktop, the Search & Filter panel can search by name, change the sort order, and filter by ride type, distance, or season. You can also switch between Detailed and Concise views above the list.

Tip: When the Planned status filter is active, planned rides are sorted nearest-first so the next ride appears at the top.

DNF Visibility

If you have rides marked as DNF (Did Not Finish), you can toggle their visibility in Settings. When the DNF visibility toggle is off, DNF rides are hidden from your ride list and the DNF filter pill disappears, keeping things focused on your successful completions. You can always turn it back on to see your full history.

The Homologation Number

When you confirm a non-permanent ride, the tracker marks it Completed and counts it toward your awards immediately. If the official ACP homologation number has not yet been published, the ride card shows a small orange "Missing #" tag alongside the Completed badge. The homologation number is a unique reference issued by Audax Club Parisien (ACP) that confirms your ride was officially validated. It typically looks like a six or seven digit number (e.g. 1000234) and is sent to you by the event organiser once results have been processed.

To add the homologation number on desktop, select the pencil on the ride card. On mobile, open the three-dot menu and select Edit ride.

Use the pencil on desktop. On mobile, open the three-dot menu and select Edit ride.

For a past non-permanent ride, the Additional Info step includes the ride location, organiser, and homologation number. Enter the number and save. The Missing # tag drops off the ride card.

To update several BRMs together, use the ACP homologation importer. Copy the results from My Results → BRM in your ACP account, review the suggested ride matches, and import only the ones you select.

Your award progress is the same while a ride is waiting for its homologation number. Most permanents do not need ACP homologation. An SR600 Original is the exception and requires an official homologation number before it can be fully confirmed.

Tip: ACP results can take a few weeks to appear. If a ride is missing, check that your current and previous clubs are listed in your ACP account, wait a few hours for new club details to refresh, then contact the organiser if needed. Audax Ireland's BRM results guide explains the full process.

Ride Details, Notes, and Award Contributions

Expand any ride card to see its status, award impact, notes, and full ride details.

Each ride also shows which awards it contributes to. Completed rides (including those still missing a homologation number) display the actual awards they count toward, while planned rides show a projection of which awards they would contribute to once completed.

You can add notes to any ride to record conditions, route details, or anything else worth remembering. Notes are visible in the expanded ride card and are included in CSV exports.
